Geocache Description:


One health and safety tip to start - the cache is close to a stream but is NOT in the mud or reeds so don't leave the bank. Also some risk of Muggling from nearby flats. So stealth may be required at times. Try not to disturb the neighbours! I have lived in Buckshaw Village for 5 years now and in Euxton for most of my life before that. As a child in the 1980s the then Euxton Royal Ordinance Factory was secure and fenced off, with (at times during the IRA troubles) armed guards at the gate. I was 18 before I could step inside it's walls. It's been fascinating to see the new community spring up in its place since 1998. The original master plan called for 4000 homes here but that has likely been surpassed some time ago. P.S. A question to cachers have lived by the stream for years but never known it's name. Does it have one? Answers in a found log please!
