Now for the Cache:

Isaac Conroe, a native of New Jersey and former Union calvary officer, established a sawmill in the area to be close to the railroad tracks. Railroad officials began to refer to the location as "Conroe's Switch." The name was eventually shortened to Conroe. Scores of settlers were attracted to the area due to the lumber boom in the late 1800s and early 1900s and Conroe was incorporated in 1904.
This simple two-stage multi focuses on two historical sights in Conroe. The first can be found at the listed coordinates where you will find a marker that not only describes a historical home in Conroe, but also provides clues to find the location of the final stage. Success with solving the following field puzzle will bring you near to Conroe's oldest newspaper, established in 1893.
Dedicated parking is available near each site.
The final stage can be found by solving the following:
N 30 18.6AB
W095 27.3CD
A = The first digit in the year in which Isaac Conroe built a sawmill in Haltom
B = Last digit in the year in which Isaac Conroe sold the house to his son
C = the digit that corresponds to the numbers of stories in this frame house
D = The last digit in the year in which Isaac Conroe's wife, Margaret, died
