Lend a Hand! Care for the Land!
When: September 15. 2018
Where: Ariey Lake Recreational Area, City Road, Harrison County, MS
Time: 9:00am till 12:00
2018 will be the 25th year dedicated people have volunteered to help make the Desoto Forest Ranger District a more scenic area.
Please join us and help care for this precious resourse.
The Desoto Forest offers a wide variety of outdoor activities along with a great place to play this great game we call Geocaching.
Lets show our appreciation by helping to remove a small portion of trash around the forest..
Update and changes!
We will meet up at the listed cords to check in. Cachers may either pick up trash on the nearby hiking trail, (which has a good many caches there) or take a short section of road nearby the Lake. There is a good bit of garbage piled at N 30 40.213 and W 89 02.896 which Desoto would like picked up. We will meet up there around 12 noon to drop off any garbage you may have and take a group photo. We will have someone bring the garbage from there back to Airey Lake to a dumpster there. If you would like to bring a picnic lunch, we can get cleaned up at the nearby water spicket and visit or fellowship around the camping area.
Please leave the number in your group in your 'Will Attend' log so Desoto will know how many of their souviners we will need. Desoto is also offering a free American the Beautiful pass to all Active Duty Military who help with cleanup!!
If you provide the muscle, Desoto Ranger District will provide the the trash bags and pickup.
Don't forget to dress appropriately, use your heavy duty gloves, bring your TOTT reachers and remember to hydrate when working outdoors.
