(Are you Ready) Do the Bus Stop was released in 1975 and reached 37 on the US R&B charts, 15 on the US Dance charts and 18 on the UK charts.

The song was released by the  Fatback Band, an American funk and disco band that was popular in the 1970s and 1980s. The Fatback Band is most known for their R&B hits, "(Do the) Spanish Hustle", "I Like Girls", "Gotta Get My Hands on Some (Money)", "Backstrokin'" and "I Found Lovin". Their 1979 single "King Tim III (Personality Jock)" is generally considered the first commercially released hip hop single.

The dance that accompanies the song is an Electric Slide dance.  This is a Disco-based line dance created and popularized in the mid-1970s. It began in a small Los Angeles disco in the Summer of 1975 and was known as the "L.A. Hustle". In the spring of 1976, it hit the East Coast of America (with modified steps) as the "Bus Stop".

It is probably not a groove you'll want to bust out while on the town but is a fun move to do when you're just goofing around with friends at home or going to a '70s theme party!
