A cache for my younger grandson. An easy walk-by if you are doing the round-Carsington Water trail (about 8 miles). Runners, cyclists and walkers use it, for it's a very therapeutic place with a great variety of habitat - always of course linked in some way to the water. It's worth exploring that area.
You could park in Hopton village if you were short of time; a suitable start point there is at/near 53°04'34.4"N 1°36'37.2"W. From here there is a path direct to the trail, although crossing a busy road.
A new cache had to be put in place on 5th March 2019 as the original was muggled into the ether (some people!) so a new one is now in place - a 35mm film canister inside which is a small polybag with the log. There is NO pen/cil so you need to take your own. BUT PLEASE BE AWARE OF MUGGLES on this very popular walk. Try to access the cache when there are no other people around. The cache was placed with the kind permission of Severn Trent Water (Carsington).
