As mentioned in the first cache, these first two are to get the TRLT series on the right track. This should be a straight forward find, but this is where the decision making comes in.
To find a cross road through the forest was very dificult. The only one is the one you can see now heading along the back of the state forest taking you to the next cache. It does not look good and it isn't. It is 4WD only and only if you are an enthusiast and love getting in hairy spots. I drove it in low range in a Nissan Navara STX. I have winches and recovery gear. It was very wet, very slippery, some big holes and I wont drive it again. The best option is to back track for ten minutes back along Arrow Smith Rd to Bald Ridge Rd, back to Burraga Rd, the back to Forrest Lodge road. This will take you to cache number3 and you are on your way. I apologise for this but I ended up with no options. Some cachers may attempt it, good luck. Its not what I do. Before you rush out onto stage 3 of The Road Less Traveled, PLEASE note the following: All roads have been picked to be 2wd suitable,EXCEPT THE NEXT ONE. Roads/Forests can be closed due to a variety of reasons. If the road/forest is closed, do not drive on/enter it.
This is NOT a power trail; this is a touring trail designed to be done at a more relaxed pace over a few days. No need to rush, there are plenty of accommodation options along the way for all budgets from free camping and caravan parks to B&B, hotels or motels in some towns or nearby.
