What is Tag Haunt?

Tag Haunts is the October 2018 round of the international Snag the Tag game. The game combines three fun geocaching elements: a night hunt, trackable coins and an event. The game starts October 20th with tags being published up until event on 27th Oct.

This is the only event outside of the USA!

Players are urged to sign up for notifications

The tags show up on a game map (see link for a sample map: https://gcf18.snagthetag.com/map.php)
Notifications will also be published on the Caledonian Cachefest Facebook page when tags become available.

The Night Hunt: 20 glow in the dark skull shaped tags will be hidden across Southern Scotland between Oct 17 and Oct 27, these will not be in geocaches. Tag locations start publishing Oct 20 during the evening and lasts for a week. Only one tag will be at each location, they are First to Find only! Finders claim their tag online and redeem it at the event for a matching finders edition geocoin (FE). The (trackable) geocoin and tag fit together to form an awesome Copper Soul Catcher!

An additional 20 Antique Silver Event Edition geocoins (EE) will be available to buy at the event. These are exclusive to the event and will not be available anywhere else

There are just 10 locations worldwide that the October round of the Snag The Tag game is being run! This is the only event in Europe that is involved with the game.

To ensure fairness only 1 tag/coin may be claimed by any single person and a maximum of 2 tags/coins per geocaching team or family (there is nothing stopping you passing extra found tags to friends)

Time Table

6pm - Start of event, Geocaches published, fancy dress judging (as you arrive/ sign the log book)
8.30pm - Fancy dress prizes given out

10pm end of event / last chance to find the caches in the dark!!!!

Bar will be open all evening, snacks/ food will be available - please remember to bring some to share with everyone.
