Welcome to the West Rand, Gauteng!
The West Rand geocaching community is very proud to present BLACK EAGLE GEOART, the only GeoArt series to date in South Africa depicting the rare Black Eagle!
Apart from its rich cultural history, the West Rand in Gauteng, South Africa is also home to an extremely active geocaching community. The West Rand geocachers are a social bunch and meet at least once every month to share stories, swap experiences and trackables and enjoy each other's company.

Willie en Lorna het ‘n plaas. Dis ‘n mooi plaas, of eintlik plasie want dis 'n plot!
Willie en Lorna het Rudolph en ‘n paar van sy vriende op die plaas wat eintlik eienaardig is aangesien Rudolph en kie mos van koue hou. Rudolph se vriende is Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet en Cupid. Dan is daar die twee Afrikaansprekendes, Donner en Blixem. (Ja, ja…. eintlik is hy nou Blitzen, maar sy oorspronklike naam was Blixem.)
Asof dit nie genoeg is dat Rudolph hulle daar woon nie, is hul bure ‘n paar ernstige swart wildebeeste. Kan net dink watter skinderstories uitgeruil word tussen daai spul. Wonder wat sou gebeur as Willie sou besluit om die spul tussen kampe te roteer, of dalk net helfte?
