Geocache Description:

Oropos, about 40km north of Athens, lies beneath forested hills by the coast overlooking the island of Evia. Rather than driving north to Chalkida to cross the bridge to Evia, in Skala Oropou you can get the ferry across instead, a journey of about 20-30 minutes to the town of Eretria,

In the Iliad, Homer mentions that the city of Eretria sent ships to join the Greek armada that sailed to Troy, The ruins of the ancient city include an impressive amphitheatre and the remains of several temples.

Evia is a peaceful and non-touristic island with wild mountains and dramatic coastlines. Some people (including me!) think the best olives in all of Greece are grown there.

The cache is a small magnetic nano. You will find its identical twin when you get off the ferry in Eretria. Please bring your own pen for signing the logbook and be discreet when finding and hiding the cache.
