Geocache Description:

This cache celebrates all FourWheelers.

FourWheelers are often used to reach some of the caches that may be way out in the forest or somewhere on a dirt road in the marsh.

The FourWheeler pictured belongs to cacher jdjeeper, our older son.

This cache contains some small items for trading. All of the stash is family friendly. Please leave something similar if you decide to swap. We also included two pencils.

1945-1949 FourWheeler
THE FIRST CIVILIAN FOURWHEELER BRAND VEHICLE (CJ) The mighty Vehicle MB emerged out of the cauldron of war ready for peace time service. The legendary G.I. workhorse of World War II was converted by into a CJ with the aim of putting farm workhorses out to pasture.

According to the manufacturer there were 5.5 million farmers in the U.S., and of these, more than 4 million had neither a truck nor a tractor. The rugged and versatile CJ-2A was marketed by as "The All-Around Farm Work-Horse". It could do the job of two heavy draft horses, operating at a speed of four miles per hour, 10 hours a day, without overheating the engine. The CJ-2A "Universal" was to serve agriculture and industry all over the world in a thousand different ways. .

The FourWheeler Wave -
When it comes to other FourWheelers, I only wave if they look like “Enthusiasts Vehicles” and not just “owner” Vehicles. There is a difference … I guess what has happened with the wave is two things — the recent influx of new FourWheeler types and owners who either don’t know or don’t care about the FourWheeler lifestyle, and; selective waving to only those that appear to get used for what a FourWheeler was meant. Which incidentally is a direct result of The Manufacturer expanding on non-traditional designs aimed more at the street than the trail … I find that in general the wave has been dying a slow death. A lot of Enthusiasts won’t wave at stock Vehicles. But then again, the wave in its true inception had to do with the sharing of kudos between diehards as they passed along a road or trail.

A FourWheeler is not necessary to retrieve this cache, though a short walk may be required.
