Saturday 15th September 10:00 - 12:30

For the 2018 international CITO week we are having a CITO in the Hogmoor Inclosure on behalf of the Deadwater Valley Trust (DVT) and the Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust. Likely to include some litter picking and possibly some weed pulling for a couple of hours on the Saturday morning between 10:00 and 12:30.

We will be meeting in the carpark at the entrance to the Hogmoor Inclosure Natural Play area. Please park in the carpark and not on the Hogmoor road(the entrance to the carpark is close to the old tank crossing and is sign posted).
The event is open to all ages and Geo-Hounds are welcome too, and there are several geocaches in the area for those that have not yet visited the area and logged them.
We will be borrowing some litter pickers and bags from the DVT but please bring your own gloves if you have them.

There are limited refreshment facilities available at this time as the new cafe area is still under construction so please bring your own packed lunch and refreshments if you wish.

Bordon and Whitehill is one of the few area in the country that have all of the UK's reptiles and amphibians the Inclosures are also home to Deer and other animals so please be aware of adders and ticks. There is also a bat colony and roosts in the Inclosure, and as well as Buzzards circling over the area we also occasionally enjoy a visiting Red Kite or two.

There are three areas that can be explored and as part of the redevelopment in the area, the Bordon Inclosure, the Hogmoor Inclosure and the Deadwater Valley, and will soon be re-populated with three series of caches which will include a mega bonus cache, & at least one night cache

The GAGB

CITO Logo
The Geocaching Association of Great Britain (GAGB). The Association was established in 2003 to provide a national geocaching organisation and serve as a UK point of contact for geocachers, landowners, the media and others with an interest in geocaching.

As part of its 10th anniversary, it was decided to hold a CITO weekend in September which has now become an annual event. It would be great to see more of these icons pop up across the country and for other members to hold their own events where it is not feasible to attend one that a committee member has organised.

There is a lot more information about what we do, including the landowner database, comprehensive event listings and forums at www.gagb.org.uk. If you would like to get involved follow the link and find our contact details.

The GAGB are encouraging everyone to organise CITO events this weekend, in part to pay-back for what we hope will have been a great summer of caching, and also to make things more pleasant for future cachers. If this CITO is the nearest one to you, please come along!

More information could well be announced, so either keep watch on the listing or log your "Will Attend" to make sure you receive the announcement logs.
