Join us for a morning Coffee and Donuts Meet and Greet on the Rio Reservoir on Saturday, 29, 2018. We will meet at the area near the NYDEC boat launch from 9:00 to 9:30 am.
The Rio, a source of water for New York City, is a beautiful and tranquil hidden gem of a spot where only canoes, kayaks and small boats with electric trolling motors are allowed. On a good day you will be able to see many birds in the sky above the clear blue water. Jumping fish and the sound of your paddle caressing the water are the only sounds to be heard. With a little luck we might be treated to the start of the autumn changing of the leaves.
Some folks will be paddling on the reservoir afterward. You are not required to Kayak to join us. You can come and say hello, join us and Joe for a morning cup of Joe and donuts at a very scenic spot on the Rio and watch us paddle off.
If you will be joining us to kayak, plan on about 3-4 hours.
A personal Floating device is required to boat in the Rio Reservoir. The boat launch is free!
