  • A Szobor:
A főtértől nem messze található Erkel Ferenc szobrot a tatabányai Erkel Ferenc Zeneiskola 60 éves fennállásának tiszteletére állíttatta, Tatabánya önkormányzati képviselője, 2010-ben.

A láda az emlékműtől pár méterre található és a szerencsésebbek, akik este 6-kor érkeznek meghallgathatják a zeneiskola hangfalaiból felcsendülő Bányász himnuszt.

Erkel Ferenc

1810-1893

Magyar zeneszerző, karmester, zongoraművész és sakkmester, a Pesti Sakk-kör első elnöke.
Pályáját zongoraművészként és zenepedagógusként kezdte Kolozsvárott, de alkalmilag vezényelt és a zeneszerzéssel is megpróbálkozott.
A Nemzeti Színház igazgatója 1844-ben pályázatot írt ki Kölcsey Hymnusának megzenésítésére, Erkel beküldte alkotását, ami végül méltán nyerte el a magyar közönség tetszését és ma is Erkel alkotása a hivatalos magyar Himnusz zenéje.

  • The statue:
Not far from the main square is the statue of Ferenc Erkel in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Erkel Ferenc Music School in Tatabánya. It's made by the Tatabánya Municipality Representative in 2010.

The cache is not far from the statue and the lucky ones who arrive at 6 am can hear the Banyasz himnusz from the music school's speakers.

Erkel Ferenc

1810-1893

Hungarian composer, conductor, pianist and chess master, the first president of the Pest Chess Circle. He began his career as a pianist and music teacher in Kolozsvár, but he was also occasionally conducting and trying to compose music.
In 1844, the director of the National Theater wrote an application for the rendering of the Kölcsey Hymnus, and Erkel sent his work, which finally won the liking of the Hungarian audience, and today Erkel is the music of the official Hungarian Hymn.
