The Dave Burrows Walk is a quite easy foreshore trail in the Margate area. It is named for Dave Burrows, who was the first to lay a trail through the area.
The track can be started from Gemalla Road to the north, the old Channel Highway to the south, or from a couple of supplementary access points on Derwent Avenue. The parking waypoint on Derwent Avenue provides quick access to the GZ, although we do encourage setting aside the time to do the full walk (it's about an hour's return trip).
The trail mostly follows the local foreshore, with views across North West Bay and ample opportunities for spotting local seabirds (mostly gulls, swans, pelicans, and herons). The last section (between the parking waypoint and the old Channel Highway) is a lightly forested bush reserve, which is home to some wallabies and pademelons.
If you're a bit of a book-worm, it may be worth bringing some of your pre-loved books with you - there's a small book exchange at the posted parking location.
Cache is a small (approximately 300ml) Sistema-type container, containing log book, pencil, and a bunch of swaps.
