Reykholt was at one time one of the intellectual centers of the island and had for many years one of the most important schools of the country. The probably most famous son of the village is Snorri Sturluson, a poet and politician who lived in Reykholt in the Middle Ages. A very interesting exhibition about Snorri can be visited close-by (see parking coordinates).
Close-by (listing coordinates) you will find a genuine icelandic hut. This hut is open to the public 24/7. Enter the hut and find its secret!
Behind the hut there is also a little forest that you might want to explore (there is another geocache!).
There is a local team who will help to maintain the cache - thanks! And also a thanks to my family for beta-testing (if they can find the cache, you can as well ;-)).
