Geocache Description:

Mahahual was previously a fishing village (in 2010 had population of 920) but now is rapidly developing tourist center.
The village of Mahahual is only about 3 kilometers (1.9 mi) away from the Costa Maya cruise port, and cruise ships can easily be seen from the village.
Mahahual has soft sand beaches, grass thatched palapas, and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef that runs along the coast.
Many hotels, bars, restaurants, and shops can be found in this quaint tourist town.
Mahahual is to become a larger tourist center with an airport and a large dock for cruise ships.
When ships are in port, the village is busy with cruise passengers.
Despite the (literally) boatloads of tourists, there's a lovely, relaxed, Caribbean vibe that you won't find further north, and it's the only spot in the Costa Maya that's large enough to support a diversity of sleeping and eating options, while still being right on the beach.

The cache:
The cache is hidden near Mahahual sign and lighthouse on the main road to the village.

NOTE: There is no pen inside.
