The cache is placed on the Creevy Shore Walk close to Creevy Pier in an area that the Kindhoof family visit frequently. Local children (& the Kindhoofs) can often be seen jumping from the pier into the Atlantic ocean at high tide here!
At Stage 1 you will find a memorial plaque. The plaque was placed in memory of local fishermen who lost their lives at sea, and serves as a sobering reminder of the awesome combined power of the Atlantic ocean and its associated weather systems. If you are going to jump into the sea off the pier, don't take any unnecessary risks and take heed of the weather and sea conditions at the time! Use the information on the plaque to find the final coordinates:
A = number of letters in 1st surname mentioned minus 1
B = number of letters in 2nd surname mentioned add 3
C = 2nd digit of the date mentioned add 2
D = number of people mentioned on the plaque minus 1
E = 1st digit of the date mentioned plus 5
F = final digit in the date mentioned plus 1
N54 31.ABC
W8 15.DEF
Parking is available close to Stage 1 of this cache. The cache is a small container containing only a logbook, so you will need to bring your own pencil. TWEEZERS REQUIRED
Please replace as found and try to ensure it is replaced out of sight.
JULY 2023 UPDATE - Please be discrete when searching for the cache and when replacing it, the area can be busy at times so the cache has been placed in a spot intended to be easy to find whist admiring the views, hopefully in the first place you look. The cache is close to water so be careful with young children.
