Congratulations to Vip Adventurers for the First to Find!
Harris pond is a beautiful gem hidden within the town of Milo. In the winter, families can ice skate on the pond, and during other seasons children 16 and under may fish here with a two fish limit. (Fishing is prohibited for anyone over the age of 16.) The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife stocks the pond with brook trout. Now Harris Pond is also a great place to introduce kids to the wonderful world of geocaching!
Turn onto Gerrish Drive toward the Kiwanis building, and then turn left onto Harris Pond Rd. There is a dog sign at the end of Harris Pond Rd. where you can park. The cache is a small camouflaged thermos that will hold trackables and swag. This is often a high muggle area, so you may need to use stealth. The cache contains a log book, pen, and swag. Make sure you put the cover on tight and hide the container well before you leave. (Please don't post photos of the cache or hiding method in your log, but other photos in the park would be great!)
There is a covered pavilion with picnic tables if you want to bring a lunch. Dogs are welcome here, but because this area is frequented by children, it is very important that you clean up after them.
This cache is hidden with permission from the Milo Chief of Police.
