Part of the Groundspeak's official Cache In Trash Out week with the additional souvenir, let's head down to Pinner Village Gardens to lend a hand on one of the projects being undertaken by the Friend's of Pinner Village Garden. The event is being held in conjunction with them, and they are providing any relevant equipment. Geocachers should meet by the water fountain at the coordinates for an 11am start, with the event running for two hours, finishing at 1pm.
What we'll be doing on the day will build on the work of the usual mid-week working parties that the Friends organise locally, and so the exact details won't be known until the day. It'll be the usual CITO type tasks of gardening and making other improvements to the local area. While equipment will be provided, by all means bring your own gardening gloves etc.
Pinner Village Gardens are broken into several sections, with a rose garden, several greens and an example of a medieval ridge and furrow field. This is the nearest surviving example of this type of field to central London.
Car parking is avaliable on street, and the park itself is served by several bus services including H11, H12 and the 183 and H13 not too far away. Pinner tube station on the Metropolitan line is about a ten minute walk away from the coordinates. After the event, there's the option of retiring to the nearby pub on Whittington Way.
