This geocache is placed with permission of Fairy Stone State Park. It is one of the six original Virginia State Parks opening June 15, 1936. With 4,741 acres and 168 acre lake adjoining the Philpott Resovoir, Fairy Stone State Park is a great location for swimming, fishing, hiking, picnics, camping and wildlife viewing. Fairy Stone State Park is located at 967 Fairystone Lake Drive, Stuart, Virginia. There is a fee for park entry.
Fairy Stone State Park is also the location for a wonderful Equestrian Campground with areas to park your RV and even stables for your horse. Please check with Fairy Stone State Park regarding their fees for this camping area and applicable fees for your horse. The "Horse Camp Trail" is a 1.54 mile long equestrian trail that will bring you into the higher elevations of Fairy Stone State Park.
You will be looking for a rock shaped container with only a log. You will need to bring your own pen. Please do not block entry/exit of any vehicle/horse trailer when you stop to grab this little jewel. Please return to GZ and cover as found.
