Während wir durch Armenien reisten und die ganz eigene armenische Schrift mit ihrer langen Geschichte bewunderten, kam uns irgendwann der Gedanke: "Und was ist mit den Schulkindern?"
Sie lernen als kleine Kinder Armenisch, mit den armenischen Schriftzeichen, klar. Und auch die zweite Schrift in ihrem Leben ist im öffentlichen Leben noch viel präsent: Russisch, mit dem kyrillischen Zeichensystem. Zweite Sprache, zweite Schrift.
Und dann? Dann steht in der Schule auch noch Englisch auf dem Lehrplan: dritte Sprache, dritte Schrift! Das hat uns ganz schön beeindruckt..
Daher ein kleines Stückchen dieses - wie wir finden sehr schönen - armenischen Zeichensystems in diesem Cache.

While traveling through Armenia and admiring the distinct Armenian script with its long history, at some point, the thought occurred to us: “And what about the school kids?” They learn Armenian as young children, using the Armenian characters, of course. And the second script in their lives is also still present in public life: Russian, with the Cyrillic character system. Second language, second script. And then? Well, in school, English is also on the curriculum: third language, third script! That really impressed us.
