Geocache Description:

Often called the “jewel” of the City, Pansy Patch Park is a 10 acre island park in the heart of Pembroke. Accessed by Dickson Street off Mackay Street, this oasis-like parcel contains some of the finest horticultural land in the County.

With beautiful flower beds and exotic trees bordered by the Muskrat River, the Park’s terrain is diverse and presents superb opportunities to stroll around in a magnificent natural setting, mountain bike or simply relax on the banks of the river.

Originally privately owned by Dr. and Mrs. H.J. Keith, this private garden sanctuary contained more than 40 species of trees, two greenhouses, goldfish pools and a lily pond which was a summer home for a pair of swans. The park was donated to the City of Pembroke in 1962, and today is maintained by the City with the help of the Pembroke Horticultural Society. It remains a quiet oasis and is a popular picnic ground where thousands of wedding photos have been taken over the years. It has over 40 species of trees, perennial flower gardens and majestic weeping willows.

This camo covered cache container is about the size of a film canister and is hanging on one of the many trees in this beautiful park, Bring you own pen and please don’t use markers as they bleed through the paper.

The driveway leading into this park is not maintainer in winter but you can park at the gate and walk in for snowshoeing or geocaching.
