This cache is one of eight leaf themed caches that were published on the morning of 9/22 for the CCLP's Leaf Olympics. Each cache page contains either fun leaf facts, a leaf anecdote from a member of the CCLP, or a brief history of the cache's location. Prospective prize winners will be required to find all eight caches, procure the secret letter contained within, and spell an event themed word in order to win a spin on the CCLP's fantastical Prize Wheel...Wheel...Wheel!!!
You may recognize this cemetery location if you played in the Octopus Olympics last year. This was the location of Toadstoolopus, a cache with a sad history. Originally, when planning the cache, we found a magnificent toadstool sitting right in the middle of the large hollow tree on the ground near you. When we went to check our Olympic caches the day before the event however, the toadstool had been consumed except for the stem! We were sure Octopus Olympians were wondering why the cache was so named, and most of them found the octopus severely manhandled and diminished when they arrived that day. After that lame start, the cache came up missing and was replaced with a medium to large sized container, but was still listed as a micro. Some caches just don't thrive! We archived it to make room for your new squirrely friend.
This cache requires a small amount of thinking that may trouble the new player, but we are not giving out a hint anyway. Be observant and the combination will be apparent.
