This cache is one of eight leaf themed caches that were published on the morning of 9/22 for the CCLP's Leaf Olympics. Each cache page contains either fun leaf facts, a leaf anecdote from a member of the CCLP, or a brief history of the cache's location. Prospective prize winners will be required to find all eight caches, procure the secret letter contained within, and spell an event themed word in order to win a spin on the CCLP's fantastical Prize Wheel...Wheel...Wheel!!!
Leaves bring humans great joy and a little work depending on where you live. We admire their great beauty as they turn colors in the Fall, kids frolic in piles and throw giant handfuls at each other, and sometimes we spend hours and hours raking and disposing of them. Besides these pleasures and labors, leaves have many other uses. Many leaves can be used to flavor food, as chef Mr. Crunchy knows all to well. Bay, Basil, thyme, eucalyptus, grape, tea, mint and cabbage leaves are all useful to make food and drink taste good. Most importantly, without eucalyptus leaves we would not have the adorable and slow as molasses koala bear!
