Geocache Description:

The WENZ Mega weekend is the perfect opportunity to get out and about in places you've never been to before, or re-visit places you've not been to in far too long.

The Rata St Loop Walk is a great way to see great views of the area without having to travel for an hour to get to it from anywhere in the Hutt Valley.

For more information, and a guide to what to expect, see http://www.huttvalleynz.com/see-and-do/tracks-and-trails/rata-street-loop

From a geocaching point of view, there's a good Baker's Dozen potentially available to you, including the Challenge Cache GC5QM5F https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5QM5F_the-1000-day-challenge-wellington . If you'd like to grab this one on your travels, please make sure you qualify to claim. If you don't qualify, but intend to try to find an appropriate qualifying cache, you could always sign the logbook and write a note to that effect on the cache page.

DO NOT claim as a find unless you genuinely qualify, as doing so would be unfair to the CO who will need to verify any claim.

The posted event co-ordinates are part way around the loop, on a spur track heading towards the Mount Ken Track, so it doesn't really matter which direction you choose to tackle the walk (clockwise or anti-clockwise) as you will find me there between 11.30am and 12.30 pm.

PLEASE BE AWARE: This walk will require a moderate level of fitness and appropriate footwear. Over the length of the walk you will rise and then fall about 300m in elevation. Take your time and enjoy the experience.

There will be a logbook to sign, and remember to bring your camera as the views (assuming good weather) will be worth it.

I hope to see you there.
