Il Palladio in rovina


Questa cache è nascosta nei pressi (di quel che rimane) della villa Forni Cerato, nei pressi di Montecchio Precalcino.
L'edificio, la cui costruzione è attribuita all’architetto Andrea Palladio nel 1565 e che dal 1996 è inserita nella lista dei patrimoni dell’umanità dell’Unesco, non rappresenta certo una delle più conosciute opere del famoso architetto padovano; al giorno d'oggi è una costruzione ormai in rovina che attende di esere riportata ai fasti dei tempi migliori.
La cache contiene solo il logbook, portatevi una penna e buona caccia!


Villa Forni Cerato


Questa villa, o villino, fu costruita, rielaborando un edificio preesistente, a metà del Cinquecento su commissione di Girolamo Forni ricco commerciante di legnami ma, caso più unico che raro per le ville palladiane, non nobile. Forni era in rapporti d'affari con Andrea Palladio come fornitore di legname, e questo è uno dei motivi che spingono la maggior parte dei critici ad attribuire il progetto di questa villa allo stesso Palladio; il disegno della villa è peraltro incluso ne "Le fabbriche e i disegni di Andrea Palladio" di Ottavio Bertotti Scamozzi.
La villa ha un aspetto semplice ma gradevole. Sulla facciata una serliana preceduta da scalinata, sovrastata da bassorilievi di Alessandro Vittoria. Dietro la villa una ampia tenuta delimitata da un muro.
Oggi purtroppo la villa è in stato di totale abbandono; svuotato l'interno, asportati tutti gli infissi, inselvatichito il giardino, la villa offre uno spettacolo spettrale, ridotta ad uno scheletro.






Palladio in ruins


This cache is hidden near villa Forni Cerato (or near what remains about the original building), in Montecchio Precalcino.
The building, whose construction is attributed to the architect Andrea Palladio in 1565 and which has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1996, does not represent one of the best known works of the famous Paduan architect; nowadays it is a ruined building waiting to be brought back to the best times.
The cache contains only the logbook, bring your own pen and good hunting!

Villa Forni Cerato


This villa, or cottage, was built, reworking a pre-existing building, in the mid-sixteenth century commissioned by Girolamo Forni, wood merchant rich but, more unique case that rare for the Palladian villas, not noble. Forni was in business with Andrea Palladio as a lumber supplier, and this is one of the reasons that motivate most critics to attribute the design of this villa to Palladio himself; the design of the villa is also included in "The factories and designs by Andrea Palladio" by Ottavio Bertotti Scamozzi.
The building has a simple but pleasant appearance. On the façade there is a serliana preceded by a staircase, surmounted by bas-reliefs by Alessandro Vittoria. Behind the villa a large estate bounded by a wall.
Today, unfortunately, the villa is in a state of total abandonment; emptied the interior, removed all the fixtures, the garden has become wild, the villa offers a ghostly spectacle, reduced to a skeleton.
