Long before Geocaching was around I used to collect USGS 7.5 Minutes maps. I was always intrigued by the open undeveloped parallel valleys East of Mount Diablo. These natural gems have withstood the years of Urban Sprawl.....for now. The East Bay Regional Park District made a surprise land purchase a few years ago which will save some land but development is inevitable. Come out and enjoy these natural valleys before Antioch gets greedy and fills them in. Come out in the daytime for full enjoyment of the views. Even better come out in the springtime to enjoy the abundant wildflowers.
