Näissä maalaismaisemissa oli ensimmäinen tekemämme geokätkö. Se sijaitsi vanhan, 1970-luvun alussa rakennetun sillan alla. Silta ei kestänyt enää nykyisten liikennemäärien kuormitusta ja raskaimpien ajoneuvojen painoa, joten sen paikalle rakennettiin uusi silta vuosina 2017-2018. Alkuperäinen kätkö tuhoutui vanhan sillan mukana, eikä uuden sillan rakenne enää mahdollistanut vastaavaa toteutusta, joten oli aika keksiä jotain uutta.
Salmenkylän silta vie yli kirkasvetisen Juojärven, joka tuli valituksi myös Pohjois-Savon maakuntajärveksi. Kesäaikaan alueella on vesiliikennettä ja voit bongata myös Juha-laivan purkamassa saarien hakkuutyömaiden puulastia. Talvella paikalla voi olla jästejä pilkkimässä, syksyisin ja keväisin salmen sulalla virtapaikalla viihtyvät muuttolinnut, kuten joutsenet. Kuuleman mukaan veden virtaussuunta salmessa vaihtuu noin puolen tunnin välein.

Our first geocache located in this area. It was hidden under the old Salmenkylä Bridge that was built over the lake Juojärvi in the early 70's. The original cache was destroyed when the new bridge was built in 2017-2018.
Water in the lake Juojärvi is very clear. In the summer there's also water traffic in the area and you may see Juha-ship unloading timber cargo from the islands. In the winter there may be muggles ice fishing and in the spring or autumn you may see water birds like swans. It is said that the direction of the water flow in the strait changes every half an hour.
