Geocache Description:

THE GEOCACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDS. Chatteris is a lovely town that houses a lovely little multi, As you work your way around the town don't forget to enjoy the towns architecture. The parish of Chatteris is large, covering 6,099 hectares, and for much of its history was a raised island in the low-lying wetland of the Fens. Mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. The miraculous story of the first known parishioner of the town, Bricstan, is documented in the Historia Ecclesiastica by the Chronicler Orderic Vitalis (1075 – c.1142). According to the legend, Bricstan was a pious free tenant from the town who had joined the monastery at Ely Cathedral in 1115 to begin training as a monk. However, he was accused of theft and imprisoned in London. The legend recounts that one night he had a vision of Saint Etheldreda coming towards him, and as if by a miracle, his heavy chains fell from him and he was shackled no longer. When he awoke from his dream, he discovered that this was indeed true and he was free of his chains.[7] The wife of Henry I, Matilda of Scotland, heard of the miracle, and she assured herself that he was no rogue or thief, issued a writ of pardon and declared him a free man. Other famous sons include not one but 2 boxing champs Eric Boon, (28 December 1919 – 19 January 1981) was a champion British lightweight boxer. Born in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, he was known by the nicknames Boy Boon and the Fen Tiger.[1] Of a total of 119 fights, he won 92 (KO 62), lost 21 (KO 13) and drew 5.[1] He beat Dave Crowley on 15 December 1938 to become British Lightweight Champion, a title he held for three years until 12 August 1944. His match against Arthur Danahar from the Harringay Arena was the first televised boxing match, broadcast on BBC television and shown live in several cinemas on 23 February 1939.[2] Boon v Danaher was the first occasion that the BBC had been permitted to televise a boxing match but also the first time a transmission had been shown live to a paying audience in cinemas (the Marble Arch Pavilion and the Tatler News Theatre). following his retirement from the sport, played a number of small roles in British films such as Champagne Charlie and Carry On Sergeant. Boxer Dave Boy Green. British Lonsdale Belt On 1 June 1976, Green entered the ring in a tiger-skin dressing-gown to win the British light-welterweight Championship (Lonsdale Belt) against Joey "The Jab" Singleton of Liverpool with powerful hooks to the head and body. First European title On 7 December 1976 Green took on the Pride of Paris Jean-Baptiste Piedvache for the European light welterweight championship. Green was staggered in the 8th round but Piedvache's left eye was closing. With a strong right and left hooks Green retired Piedvache in the 9th round while ahead on points. It was Green's 22nd straight win with 18 inside the distance. Did you know that a Fen Tiger is not an animal? Have you heard about the Black Shuck, a mythical hellhound, who it’s claimed still roams many parts of the UK, including Chatteris? Have you heard about the Wise Woman, who uses her scrying bowl to tell the future? As with many old english towns there is many a tale to be heard about Chatteris. It even has a song about it by Half man Half biscuit called what is Chatteris without you in it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yY2aHxWV1xE Assuming you have all correct info the checksum of the final is 50. The Equation is : N, E(C+F) (E-H)(B+C).A(B+C)(H-F) E 000 0(H-C).(G+F)(A+C)(D+F)
