Geocache Description:

This cache is at a brand new parking lot with shelter at the end of a new extension of the Constitution Trail. For those of you familiar with Bloomington/Normal you will know what I'm talking about. There is a sign by the shelter that says "Bike Route, Route 66 trail". Keep in mind, as of this posting the shelter and parking lot does NOT show up on Google Earth.  It is that new!  Now when I saw the sign that said bike route 66, it got me to thinking about someting I'd never thought of before.  I wondered if anyone had ever ridden a bicycle the entire length of Route 66.  Well yes it has and plenty of times.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised.  It's amazing what us humans can accomplish some times.  I'm going to post a link of an interesting article about just that very thing.

Maybe you can be the next person to bike Route 66.  Be sure to hydrate in Flagstaff!!

This cache is very close to the Shirley exit whether you're going northbound or soutbound on I55.
