Whangaehu is a small rural village, 15mins South of Wanganui. It consists largely of a school, a church, a garage a community hall, & a marae. There is beach access at the end of Whangaehu Beach Road, although it's through private land, public are welcome to use it, as long as gates are left as found. Although not the nicest of beaches i.e. lots of driftwood, & fairly rough sea's, it is a place to be during whitebaiting season, & good for fishing
I also don't recommend you attempt to find this cache during the hours of 7.15 - 8.00a.m & 3.45 – 4.15p.m during week days, as this is when the school bus stops here to pick up & drop of local children.
Caution will be needed during out of school hours & holidays , as Whangaehu children may be playing near by.
