Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Howard County Soccer Series at Rockburn Branch Park

I'm a soccer mom, through and through. I play soccer, my kids play soccer and for many years I spent every weekend and all weekend at soccer fields up and down this part of the east coast, especially when one of my sons was playing premier level soccer. I know that soccer parents have to get their players to the fields up to an hour early for warm-ups and such. I used to spend that hour either walking, jogging, talking with the other parents, entertaining younger siblings or if it was really cold, sitting in the car reading a book. I wish I was geocaching during that time, because I visited lots of parks in many different states and would have loved to spent that time grabbing caches also.

This is a very simple puzzle and soccer fans should easily guess the name of this player.

I love watching the US National Teams play and rooting for the USA.

One of my favorite US players to watch on the field is graceful and gritty, smooth and strong, darting around defenders to the net one minute and overpowering them the next. A blur on the pitch, this player overwhelms with attacking style, bringing defenses to their knees and fans to their feet. And having scored late goals in World Cup and Olympic matches, this striker is a pressure performer, thriving when the stage is grandest and all eyes are on soccer. This forward was an Olympic champion in 2012, World Cup champion in 2015 and US Soccer Athlete of the Year in 2012. In 2016 at the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifiers in February, this striker scored the fastest recorded goal in tournament history and in the history of the USWNT, netting after just 12 seconds, before later adding a second, in a 5–0 defeat of Costa Rica.

This player attended UC Berkeley and played for the California Golden Bears from 2007 to 2010. This player played for the Portland Thorns from 2013-15 and now plays for Orlando Pride.

Off the field, this player teamed with Simon & Schuster to write a middle-grade book series about four soccer players: The Kicks. The first book in the series, Saving the Team, debuted at number seven on The New York Times Best Seller list in May 2013. Also this player appeared alongside Lionel Messi on covers of FIFA 16 sold in the United States.
