Detta är en cache som släpptes under Mega Sweden FAD i Sundsvall den 3 november 2018.

Medelpads landskapssvamp är Fårtickan.

Svampen som representerar Medelpad är Fårtickan, eller Albatrellus ovinus. Det är en vit eller gulvit svamp vars hatt är ca 10-20cm bred. Fårtickan både luktar och smakar gott, och har inga giftiga svampdubbelgångare som den kan blandas ihop med, om man nu vet vad man ska leta efter. Fårtickan används bland annat som ersättning för tryffel när man tillverkar leverpastej.

The provincial MUSHROOM of Medelpad is FÅRTICKA

Fårticka, in Latin Albatrellus ovinus, is a white or yellowish/white mushroom with a hat that is about 10 to 20 cm wide. It’s a nice smelling and nice tasting mushroom that is easy to recognise, and it has no poisonous lookalikes. It is used as a substitute for truffles when you make liverwurst.
