Arja Hannus är en välkänd profil inom orientering. Hon är född och uppvuxen i Sundsvalls kommun och har på sin meritlista bland annat: ett individuellt guld på VM, tre stafettguld på VM, ett stafettsilver på VM och åtta individuella SM-tecken. Inom skidorientering har hon även fem VM-guld varav ett individuellt, sex VM-silver varav två individuellt samt tre VM-brons.
