国鉄士幌線は十勝北部の森林資源や農産物の運搬に貢献した鉄道でした。1939年に帯広から十勝三股までの78kmが全線開通し1987年に廃線になりましたが、山間部にかかる橋は残され、国道273号線沿いでも見ることができ、一部の橋は登録有形文化財や北海道遺産にも指定されています。また、線路跡を活用したトロッコや遊歩道、駅跡見学など当時の名残を感じることができます。
GZは以前に糠平駅があったところです。今は資料館がこのところにあります。鉄道の長い歴史のエピソードをパネルやスライドショーで紹介しています。大型モニターでは乗車体験ができます。アーチ橋散策地図やアーチ橋絵はがき等を販売しています。資料館の開館日は4月−10月。開館時間は9:00-4:00。入館料は100円。定休日は月曜日（７−８月無休）。
資料館の外でキャッシュが隠されています。明らかな冬の準備に関わらず、このキャッシュには一年中アクセスすることが可能です。自分のペンを持ってきてください。
The JR Shihoro Line was opened in 1939 and transported agricultural produce and lumber the 78km from Obihiro to Tokachi Mitsumata. The line was closed in 1987, but remnants of the track through the mountains and alongside national highway Route 273 can still be seen. These remnants have been registered as national cultural treasures. Part of the old line can be ridden on pedal-powered mini-cars, and a hiking trail that encompasses many of these Hokkaido heritage sites has been established.
This cache is hidden at the site where Nukabira Station used to be. In place of the station there is now a reference library in which the long history of the Shihoro Line is shown on display panels and in slide shows. Riding the line may be virtually experienced on large monitor screens. Maps of the bridge hike and picture postcards can be purchased. Entry is ¥100. The reference library is open from 9am - 4pm from April to October. The library is closed on Mondays during this period excluding July and August.
A microcache has been hidden outside the reference library and CAN BE ACCESSED REGARDLESS OF ANY WINTER PREPARATIONS THAT MAY BE EVIDENT. Please bring something to write with.
