Geocache Description:

Many years ago, this entire area was part of the great Basso Commonwealth. We were our own country, and made our own laws. We also had our own king, King Marcello Ocatavius Basso XIV. It wasn't really a democracy, since each new king was always of the Basso lineage. But the people were happy, and besides, never really caught on.

This cache marks the exact spot of our most popular runway--good old "20-45." It was called that because the pilot touched done using a heading of 20 degrees, then immediately had to make a quick right to heading 45 degrees.

Most of the pilots got the hang of it after a few landings.

This runway was officially designated a Bassoville Historical Landmark in 1923. A geocache was placed in honor of this occasion.
