This cache is situated in red squirrel woodland not far from the marked Red Squirrel Walk. By the 1990's red squirrels had almost disappeared from Newborough Foreset but they were re-introduced in 2004. Now red squirrels can be seen in many locations across Anglesey, including at Llyn Parc Mawr. Red squirrels spend much of their time in the tree tops during the day, so can be difficult to spot. In Winter they are usually easier to see in the morning. Squirrel feeders are located around the area of Llyn Parc Mawr, these can often be good places to find squirrels.
