The board here gives some fascinating pictures and details of the village, well worth a read. The adjacent recreation field was donated to the village by previous estate owners the Earls of Dartmouth. The estate was purchased from the Earl by the current owners the Sykes family in 1968. It is thought that the estate has been owned by just three families in the last 700 years!
