[RO] Biserica catedrala "Sfintii imparati Constantin si Elena" a fost ctitorita de un deputatul liberal Constantin Bursan, pe un teren donat de familia Chirea din Hunedoara. Constructia realizata din beton si caramida, avand soclul placat cu piatra de trahit, iar fatada cu piatra de "Banpotoc", a fost demarata in anul 1939 si finalizata in anul 1946. Realizata in stil pur bizantin, cu un plan in forma de cruce, avand patru turle si o cupola centrala, catedrala este prevazuta cu trei balcoane: unul principal (in fata) sustinut pe 8 stalpi de piatra sculptati, iar cele laterale pe cate 6 stalpi de asemenea sculptati.Sub cornisa principala sunt amplasate 50 de nise de un metru patrat fiecare, realizate din mozaic (sibile, folozofi, proroci, ingeri) si trei panouri tot in mozaic, din marmura de Italia, avand cca. 20 metri patrati fiecare, ce reprezinta hramul bisericii (in fata), Nasterea Domnului (sud) si Invierea (nord).
[EN] "The Emperoros Saints Constantin and Elena" cathedral was founded by the liberal deputy Constantin Bursan, on a land donated by Chirea family from Hunedoara. The construction, made from concrete and bricks, with the base covered with trachyte, and the front side with Banpotoc stone, was initiated in 1939 and was finished in 1946. The cathedral, made in pure byzantine stile, with a cross shape plan, four towers and a center cupola, is equipped with three balconies: the main one on the front side sustained on 8 sculpted stone pillars and the sides ones sustained on 6 also sculpted pillars. Under the main cornice are 50 niches by one square meter each, made from mosaic (Sibyls, philosophers, prophets, angels) and three Italian marble mosaic panels, by cca. 20square meters each, representing the patron saints (in front), the Birth of God (south) and the Ressurection (north)
