Las coordenadas originales se encuentran en la Federación Madrileña de Ajedrez (FMA), donde aprendí a jugar. Este es un pequeño manual de introducción sobre como comenzar la partida con buen pie.
Los principios fundamentales al comienzo de la partida son:
- controlar el centro
- desarrollar las piezas menores
- proteger al rey
The original coordinates are located in the Chess Federation of Madrid, where I learned to play. This is a little introduction about how to start a chess game with success.
The fundamental principles of the beginning of the game are:
- control the center
- develop the minor pieces
- protect the king
La mayoría de principiantes comienzan intentando dar el mate pastor.
Most beginners start with the scholar's mate.
Sin embargo, esta estrategia tan básica sólo funciona contra jugadores muy inexperimentados y no cumple los principios anteriores (desarrollar la dama tan pronto no suele ser recomendable). Por lo tanto, una de las primeras formas de comenzar la partida que suele enseñarse es avanzar el peón de rey (1. e4!), sacando los caballos y alfiles y preparandose para enrocar:
However, this simple strategy only works against beginners and it does not follow the general principles outlined above (developing the queen so early in the game is usually not good). Therefore, most beginners are taught to start the game advancing the king's pawn (1. e4!), developing knights and bishops and prepare to castle:
Una vez pasado el periodo de iniciación, siguiendo con el mismo comienzo (1. e4 e5 2. Cf3 Cc6) se empieza a jugar de formas menos simétricas como la apertura Española (3. Ab5!), que llevan a posiciones mas complejas:
After the first learning phase, starting with a similar sequence of moves (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6), players start to play more asymmetrically like in the Spanish opening (3. Bb5!), leading to more complex positions:
Si el jugador negro quiere evitar este tipo de posiciones, tiene varias alternativas en su primera jugada, como las defensas Francesa (1. e4 e6), Caro-Kann (1. e4 c6) o Siciliana (1. e4 c5). Esta última tiene muchas variantes, como por ejemplo la variante Sozin:
If the black player wants to avoid this type of positions, he may change his first move, to play the French (1. e4 e6), the Caro-Kann (1. e4 c6) or the Sicilian (1. e4 c5) defenses. The latter has many variations like the Sozin variation:
... o la variante del Dragón que yo mismo he jugado frecuentemente (el nombre viene dado por la estructura de peones del negro que obviamente recuerda a la forma de un dragón):
... or the Dragon variation that I've frequently played (the name is given because of the black pawns' structure that obviously looks like a dragon):
Otro comienzo típico es abrir la partida ocupando el centro con el peón de dama, lo que comunmente lleva al gambito de dama (1. d4 d5 2. c4) aceptado o rechazado:
Another typical way to start the game is to occupy the center with the Queen's pawn, often leading to the Queen's Gambit (1. d4 d5 2. c4) accepted or declined.
Si el jugador negro quiere evitar estas posiciones, siempre puede jugar las posiciones de doble filo de la defensa india de rey. Como siempre hay muchas posibilidades, aunque a mi me gusta el ataque de los 4 peones por como el blanco se olvida del principio de desarrollar las piezas y avanza todos sus peones centrales a la cuarta fila:
If the black player wants to avoid this positions, he can always play the double-edged positions of the King's Indian Defense (KID, be careful of not having some missunderstandings). As usual, there are multiple options, though I like the four pawns attack because white ignores the principle of developing pieces and advances all his central pawns to the fourth row.
Otra defensa popular del negro es el muro de piedra (stonewall), donde el negro situa todos sus peones en formación para parar el ataque enemigo:
Another popular defense for black is the stonewall, where black puts all his pawns on white squares to stop the enemy attack.
Como ves, si decides jugar aperturas convencionales, es importante estar a la última. Por ejemplo, el novedoso engine AlphaZero basado en aprendizaje con redes de neuronas, ha demostrado como obtener ventaja con blancas contra la defensa india de dama de las negras:
As you see, if you wanna play conventional openings, it is important to be updated. For example, the novel engine AlphaZero based on machine learning with neural networks, has shown us how to obtain advantage with white against the Queen's Indian defense:
Si ahora mismo estas pensando que esto del ajedrez no es lo tuyo porque hay que estudiar mucho, siempre puedes desviarte de la teoría en el primer movimiento y jugar la apertura Bird (1. f4?!). Esto da cierta ventaja al oponente, pero si Magnus Carlsen la usa de vez en cuando para vacilar por qué no tú:
If right now you are thinking that chess is not for you because it requires studying too much, you may always deviate from theory in the first move and play the Bird opening (1. f4?!). This gives a slight advantage to the opponent but if Magnus Carlsen uses it from time to time why don't you.
