Now for the Cache:
Danville was on the lower Coushatta Trace and reported to be flourshing as early as 1838.
The town began to decline during the civil war when virtually all the men were away. Subsequently, the town refused to allow the railroad a right-of-way and the town of Willis was established to the east where the railroad was eventually located.
The actual location of the town of Danville was "down the street and around the corner" per a plat of town lots in 1848. About all that remains of Danville accessible by the public are these cemeteries.
