Thirty Nine Days
Get your PSA tested on your next Dr visit
This cache is placed as a PSA for you to think about. I am not talking about a Public Service Announcement but the other PSA. It's called a Prostate-Specific Antigen Test. If you are a guy 50 years or older and have not had a PSA test I would suggest that you do.
I recently went in for a routine physical and part of which included having my PSA tested. It was much higher than normal. The next step was to go to a specialist to determine if my prostate was cancerous or non-cancerous. When the results of the biopsy came back it was confirmed that it was cancer.
The doctors said there are three things you can do concerning the results. You can have your prostate surgically removed, you can do radiation treatments, or nothing. Then the Dr. said "but don't do nothing". I was told the advantages / disadvantages of both procedures and then went home to figure out my next step.
After some deliberation, I decided that the best approach for me was radiation treatments. Others may determine that surgery is best for them. The end result of either of the procedures is about the same.
This is where the Thirty Nine Days come in, the radiation treatments are done every day (except Sat-Sun-Holiday) for Thirty Nine days. I wasn't sure if after that length of time if I would glow in the dark or turn green when I got angry like the Incredible Hulk but nothing like that has happened, at least not yet.
So if you are ever in this same situation, ask questions,study your options but don't do nothing.
You will know why I chose this spot to place this cache when you get here. It is listed as a park & grab but it's pretty hard to find a place to park. Also, high muggle area, lots of foot traffic certain time of the day.
