La cuesta La Dormida es un lugar único. A parte del bosque nativo se pueden encontrar excelentes miradores. Busqué un lugar con buena vista, y creo haberlo encontrado, aunque a lo largo del sendero sospecho hay puntos donde la vista es mucho mejor, tanto hacia el este como el oeste. Al llegar al final de la subida, veran un foodtrack. Desde este parte un camino de tierra. En la entrada hay una reja con el nombre del lugar (Reserva Mundial de la Biosfera: La dormida) y con un numero de teléfono al que llamar para avisar que se esta entrando (hasta el momento, febrero del 2020, no se cobra entrada). Se puede seguir en auto por el camino (hay una pequeña bifurcación: tomar el camino de la izquierda). Se llega hasta un punto donde hay una pequeña explanada y dos caminos que salen de ella. Se puede estacionar ahi, y comenzar a caminar por el camino que sube. A su orilla verán la entrada al sendero marcada por piedras. El sendero es poco claro. Se han usado pilas de piedras pequeñas para indicar por donde sigue el sendero. Es importante seguirlas, o el camino se puede hacer mucho mas largo. Este cache no esta en la cima, si no a unos 200 metros antes de llegar a ella. Si se siguen los montoncitos de piedras, llegaran a una muy plana, y con un poco de suerte, a sus pies verán el cache. La vista desde ahi es inmejorable.
La Dormida is a unique place. Besides native forrest, you can find great lookouts. I tried to find a place with a great view, and I think I found it. Once you drive to the top of the "cuesta", you will see a food truck. You can park near it, or continue driving on the dirt road that starts there (there is a gate with the name of the place -Reserva Mundial de la Biosfera- and a phone number to call and let the caretakers of the park know that you are coming in). Continue to drive or walk. You'll get to the crossroad, take the one on the left. You'll get to a wide area where two roads start: one going down, one going up. Leave the car there and start walking on the one going up. Soon you'll see two tiny piles of rocks on the right indicating the entrance to the trail. Keep an eye out for the piles of rocks marking the trail, as it's the only way to stay on it (the trail is hard to follow). The cache is located on a flat rock 200 meters (approx) before reaching the summit. It is one of those rocks that call for a nice picture, and can hardly be missed. If you step on it, look down, and will see the cache covered with a few rocks. Enjoy the terrific view.
