
Meijiawu Tea Culture Village(梅家坞) is situated on the west side of West Lake, along the Meiling Road. It is an ancient village with a history of over six-hundred-years, and it is a famous Dragon Well tea (Longjing tea) plantation nestled in the hills surrounding West Lake.

Meijiawu Village is also famous for its authentic country-style cuisine for the local Hangzhou people and some visitors. There are many small family-run restaurants serving delicious local farmhouse-style food, such as authentic rice made by burning firewood, fragrant braised pork, moist chicken infused with Dragon-well tea, all food is expertly prepared and delectable in flavor.

This cache is at the top of the Langdang Ridge(琅珰岭), which is a mountain ridge lying northeast of Meijiawu Village. The Langdang Ridge is the longest and highest one among the West Lake mountain ridges, with an average elevation of above 200 meters. There is great hiking nearby and you can wander in and out of the tea fields or up the mountain along stone paths. It is one of the most popular mountaineering destinations for Hangzhou citizens.
Local food, Dragon-well tea, the terraced tea-gardens, sweet-smelly osmanthus flowers, and the cache, Meijiawu village is really the ideal way to slowly enjoy a day in Hangzhou.
