Patchy began his life as a two-eyed garden owl. He stood watch over my grandmother's bird feeders, scaring the hawks that would occasionally come to feast on the small birds. He was a faithful and loyal owl, standing guard at his post 24/7, winter thru fall for many, many years. At some point he lost an eye, and when gram sold her house nobody wanted a one-eyed owl. I took pity on him and brought him home.
For two years Patchy perched in my den, waiting for the day that I would fix his eye. As the Atlantic Fall Favorites competition approached I thought I was too busy to take part in 2018, but Patchy sat there silently begging me to return him to the forest. After a somewhat quick operation, Patchy was ready to go back to the forest and keep an eye out for cachers with his one good eye. Please treat him nice and gently replace his patch after you sign the log.
Parking is available at the end of Commerce Drive just beware of muggles during the busy times of the day. While Patchy is quite large storage space is very limited (just the log) so bring your own writing tool. No space for swag either, sorry.
