Piazza indipendenza si trova nella parte centrale di Chiasso, più precisamente nella zona antistante la Stazione e la Dogana di Ponte Chiasso, è sempre stata sede di banche, alberghi e dell'ufficio postale, ma non tutti sanno che nel mezzo ci scorreva anche un fiume! Beh.. il torrente Faloppia ci scorre ancora, ma oggi è stato "imbottigliato" al di sotto dell'attuale Via Favre.

Anche questa piazza, come la vicina Piazza Bernasconi, ospita periodicamente eventi di vario genere, come festival musicali, mercatini e sagre culinarie. Essendo adiacente alla zona pedonale ed in posizione molto centrale, la rendono un posto molto frequentato da persone di passaggio o che ci vengono magari a passare la pausa pranzo.
In bocca al lupo con la cache e mi raccomando, rimettetela nello stesso posto!

Indipendenza Square is located in the central part of Chiasso, facing the train station and the nearby custom office of Ponte Chiasso, there always been banks, hotels and post office here, but not everyone knows that in the middle once flowed a river! Well.. the Faloppia river still flows there, but it has been "bottled" underground, under the actual Favre Street.
This square, along with the nearby Bernasconi square, periodically houses various events, such as music and culinary festivals. Being linked to the pedestrian area and in a very central position, this square is constantly crowded by people passing by or spending here their lunch break.
