During several discussions about going out the Googong Dam to collect the caches out here... the phones auto-correct decided we couldn't possibly mean 'Googong', so it changed it to 'Goofing'.... ever since, I have referred to going out here to be 'Goofing'.
The cache is on an island.... or is it? It really depends on the water level. On the day it was placed, it was NOT an island, but I certainly would not want to walk from the mainland out here... it looked a bit treacherous. Your call! Anyway, that's why this isn't a T5 hide... because if you walked all the way round, crossed the muddy treacherous divide...then it wold be a T4. If you paddle, its a T5, so I decided to go half way.
The hide itself is rather easy to find, especially as the hint gives you limited choices, so a D of 1.5
Important notes (copied from others!):
1. The Googong foreshores are only open from 8am to 6pm (8pm during daylight savings)!
2. Only non-petrol boats are allowed on this dam! The total distance to paddle is about 2km (return), so make sure you are up for that, and check that the weather is fine.
