Geocache Description:

The North Arm Series: The North Arm Bridge

This cache will bring you to the western entrance of Lakes Entrance. There are many things to look at and do just in this area.  To find G.Z. and the cache log, you will need to visit a couple of spots just around here to find the required information to find the final co-ordinates.

There is plenty of parking on either side of the bridge. And there is a beautiful walking track that winds it way from one side of the bride to the other. Look for the track that leads under the bridge.

At the published co-ordinates, you will have a brilliant view of the relatively new North Arm Bridge that brings the Princes Highway into Lakes Entrance.  This is the third bridge built over the North Arm.  This current model replaces the Bridge that was constructed in 1916 to replace an earlier 1872/3 wooden bridge.  You should be right near a boat ramp and you will also have the very busy North Arm water way right in front of you.  The Lakes Skate Park is just beside the carpark for the teenage cachers who may like to bring their skateboards with them. There is also an RV dump point just nearby for those that may need that resource. AND if you've been camping or boating and are in need of a shower, the toilet block just near by contains showers. This is a very busy area with many cars and boat trailers coming and going AND very deep water with strong currents close by.  PLEASE ensure that you keep a close eye on smaller cachers and if you have a geodog or two with you, local laws require them to be on leads.

Waypoint 1: at the published co-ords you will need to READ THE SIGN (and you could check the accuracy of your GPS . ) To find Waypoint 2 you will need to work out the following problem using the 'S' and 'E' location information: S 37° 52.('S'  ABC - 26) and E 147° 58.('E'  DEF + 84). Enjoy your short stroll or drive to Waypoint 2.

Once at Waypoint 2: you will find a plaque outlining a little bit of history about an original water source for Lakes - "Lakes Entrance Water Bore: Colquhoun 12". To find G.Z. and the cache, you will need to work out: S 37° 52.(Year Colquhoun 12 was decommissioned - 1088) and E 147° 58.(Time period Colquhoun 12 was sunk - 1618). G.Z. is not far away. Enjoy your stroll. This is a fabulous family area. I hope you can spend time enjoying this space.

G.Z. and the Cache: you are searching for a micro bison tube that has been hidden carefully. This is a very high muggle area and trying to hide or retrieve a cache container is going to be very difficult at different times of the day. PLEASE replace it carefully so that it's not showing on the outside. There is no room for swaps. And you will need to bring your own pen/pencil to be able to leave your mark on the log.

Happy caching and I hope you enjoy your time in Lakes Entrance.

Congratulations greynomads (Bill & Diana) on your First To Find.
