Geocache Description:

There had been a mill in Binda in the 1870s but it must have ceased operations as there are reports in the early 1890s of local wheat growers transporting their grain all the way to the Crookwell mills.

To meet this demand, the Binda Mill that you can see across the road from this cache was built in the 1890s by George King. In 1896, when it was near completion, King fell from the scaffolding and died from his injuries. The mill was never put into operation.

The building appears to have stayed in the family and I have found newspaper reports of socials and fund raising dances being held in the mill.

The mill is now a B&B
