Geocache Description:

This popular park, located adjacent to the Malacha Bridge, opened in late 2016.  The restroom building was originally part of the Snook Inn Restaurant that was located on the site for many years and is considered a historic building.

A Brazilian free-tailed bat colony resides in the bat house. It is one of 13 different bat species that live in Florida. During the daytime, the bats sleep in the house.  At night, the bats may be seen flying around eating all sorts of insects, mosquitoes, and flies.  The bat is an insectivore and nocturnal forager. Each bat may consume 3,000 insects and mosquitoes in a single evening.
