A Brazilian free-tailed bat colony resides in the bat house. It is one of 13 different bat species that live in Florida. During the daytime, the bats sleep in the house. At night, the bats may be seen flying around eating all sorts of insects, mosquitoes, and flies. The bat is an insectivore and nocturnal forager. Each bat may consume 3,000 insects and mosquitoes in a single evening.
